A Hometown Ticket
Washington Oculus writes about a story that the major media isn't reporting, but one that a local DC neighborhood paper, The Georgetowner, recently ran as a cover story: "Hometown Ticket: Kerry Chooses Edwards." That's right, Georgetown, one of the wealthiest zip codes (20007) in the nation, is proud that both members of the Democratic ticket have multi-million dollar homes in swank and exclusive Georgetown.
It's worth noting that just because these two yahoos have houses there, it doesn't mean that they have "homes" there - as you know, each Senator has attended fewer than 20% of the Senate votes this term, so they can't be spending that much time in Georgetown.
On another note, I'm guessing that the DNC was mortified by The Georgetowner's cover story - after all, they've spent so much time and money trying to paint both Kerry and Edwards as being in touch with the common working man. How many common working men that you know have a 4 million dollar second home near their workplace?

how do i keep carrying on about how rich kerry is? what i "keep carrying on about" is how he pretends to not be rich, how he pretends to be 'in touch.' in fact, see my post June 13, 2004 - Kerryopoly you ready to double dose me with the "michael moore treatment now?" by "michael moore treatment" you must mean "distort what i say, accuse me of saying things that i didn't say, charge hypocrisy where there is none," etc etc. its like me saying "martha is a bad person for making $50k by insider trading her stocks" and you coming back with "bush has stocks too! you hypocrite! im gonna double dose michael moore you!!!" retard |

Actually Bush has a helluva lot more invested in his common folk image than Kerry or Edwards -- he's by far a bigger phony. He failed upward his whole life and always been bailed out by his Daddy's friends. In Molly Ivins' immortal words, he was born on third base, and thinks he hit a triple. It's ironic as hell condidering he is at least the 3rd-generation heir to one of the most elite and politically influential families of the last century. At least Kerry/Edwards' constituency is the average person, while the REAL George Bush is busy looking out for his true base -- "the haves and the have-mores." BTW -- sorry for past language and nast remarks. Will keep my comments in the future to facts and reasoned opinion -- until you ban me, anyway. |
