  • Abu Musab al-Zarqawi Captured? (Part Deux)

       July 30, 2004

Kuwaiti Newspaper Al Bawaba is reporting that Abu Musab Zarqawi has been captured near the Syrian border.

This is the second time this story has broken in the last 24 hours; yesterday, we reported that a Russian newspaper was claiming the same. That report was later retracted by the paper.

I don't know which is more reliable, a Kuwaiti paper or a Russian paper - it's probably a horse apiece. But the fact that there are two reports in two separate unreputable news sources makes it at least a little more likely, doesn't it?

We've probably had him for weeks now and are just hauling him out now so that Kerry doesn't get a big bounce off the convention. ;-)

i'll bet that we really caught him yesterday, but kerry is involved in a conspiracy to keep him hidden, so that he can enjoy his huge bounce. he's no doubt using his vast network of personal friends in the military to accomplish this. (you may not know this, but i hear that john kerry won the purple heart, not only once, not only twice, but THREE times!)

really? what war was he in? i'm surprised that he hasn't used his service to his advantage more in the campaign. wow, he really must be noble and selfless.
