  • Wictory Wednesday: Vote Early

       September 08, 2004

Every Wednesday, we've been telling you to do that thing you do to help re-elect President Bush. But now you can do even more. You can vote early (but not often, after all we're not Democrats people). Order an absentee ballot now and you won't have to worry about Election Day hassle, and you can volunteer for the campaign all day long on November 2.

As an aside, is there any reason we don't get off of work and school on Election Day? Isn't it a holiday in most other countries? If we're so concerned about low voter turnouts, wouldn't giving most people the day off of work go a long way to solve that "problem"?

Anyway, something else you can do each and every Wictory Wednesday is check out some of the blogs listed below. If you're like me, and live in the heart of liberal looneyland, it's wonderful to find other like-minded people.

i'm not concerned about "low voter turnout," kris. people that don't know anything about the election or the candidates should not be voting. personally, i think that it should be a lot harder to vote. "motor voter" acts and wisconsin's incredibly easy "register at the polls" system makes it way too easy for the uninformed to skew elections.

don't get me wrong - im not advocating denying any non-felon the right to vote - i just don't see anytihng wrong with making them register in advance. polls are open in most places for over 12 hours, and the option to vote early or by absentee is avaialble to all.

    Please be quiet.
I realize I'm merely a guest at your blog, but for the future of my family, I would prefer that conservatives are elected for the foreseeable upcoming election cycles. I'd appreciate you not spouting the liberal mantra.
Higher voter turnout equals Dim victory. Why do you thing Dims are always trying to get every illiterate 16 year old registered to vote when they start driving? They bus the dumbest of the dumb to the pols?
It's because they will all vote for the Dims. And Dims are always the ones who want more people who haven't a clue where the nearest voting booth is to rush right down there and pull the D lever.
    Please don't help them.
    Thanks.

Just wanted to note that my absentee ballot is on it's way, as i will not be in town that day anyways.

I also wanted to point out some startling stats that compare avg deaths per month from vietnam, iraq, and US murder rates...

FYI - The UAW has in their contract that they have election days off. Why else do you think MI/OH/IL so often favor the Dims?
