  • Major Kerry Story to Break Monday

       October 23, 2004

    Powerline reports:

that a major newspaper will break a front-page story Monday morning that could create a serious problem for the Kerry campaign. We don't yet have any details, but it relates to a foreign policy issue, and it will call into question--amazingly enough--John Kerry's truthfulness.

I think, first all, that we can assume the major newspaper in question is either the Washington Times or the NY Post. And, we can therefore assume that whatever story they break will not make the MSM until at least Nov. 3.

But what could it be? Is it details on Kerry's meetings with the Viet Cong? Has Kerry tried cooking things up behind the scenes with Jacques Chirac? Hmm, maybe the story will expose some Kerry ties to the Saudi royal family (that would be especially exciting given how Bush's ties to the Saudis have become the issue in campaign ads here). Whatever it is, I can't wait. Powerline hopes for a scoop by tomorrow evening, so check it out and keep your fingers crossed that whatever the story is, that it's true and that it has legs.

Update: Find more info on this story at RedState.

Not sure what the newest Kerry scandal will be...though connections to Food For Oil scandal are not out of the realm of possibility

As the guys who tipped Powerline, I'm afraid to say that none of your predictions are on the mark.

All fun-sounding to be sure, though.

    Mike,

I think you should give us a hint! We won't tell anyone ;-)

I think you are all going for the obvious. The obvious things stated above will, sadly enough, not sway most voters. It takes too much work for average people to comprehend it all. However, something discovered along the lines of his physical health or, more importantly, his mental health, either past or current, would cause a great deal of unease for everyone voting. Most people would back away from any candidate discovered to have a past history of mental instablity or mental illness. Think outside the box everyone.

Kerry is clearly mentally unstable. That hasn't hurt him yet.

My guess is that it has to do with Kerry's abandonment of the POW's/MIA's in Vietnam. He fast tracked legislation that allowed his cousin to land a 900 million golar deal to help rebuild Vietnamns infrastructure, by killing the POW/MIA in the Senate, despite evidence to the contrary.

ha! I've been saying for months that some story will break in the final week before the election regarding John Kerry... remember those FBI files of his that were stolen from some historian's house?

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/West/03/27/kerry.documents/

and let's keep in mind who has a lot of experience with FBI files.. hint.. she's a senator from NY

now the real magic act is going to be how she gets the MSM to start screaming Republican Attack Machine right after Kerry loses the election
