  • Greetings from the President

       December 30, 2004

Unlike James, my mailbox isn't full of solicitations from John F. Kerry and Nancy Pelosi. Nope, instead I get cool things like this letter that came today:

Now, I know darn well that Bush wasn't toiling over these letters in the Oval Office, but nonetheless, I appreciate the thanks. And, it's kind of cool to pull a letter with the White House as a return address out of the mailbox. Of course, in my neighborhood this will probably cause me to get my ass kicked. Ah well, it's worth it ;-)

As an aside, I'm pleased to note that the President's penmanship is almost as bad as my own.

I got a letter as well!

I demand an 'autopen investigation!' He can't even write a letter to his millions and millions of voters...Jesus! ;) (I jest, of course.)

*I'm* wondering how the name was done, though. Hrm.

I got a letter too! I don't care if it was done in auto pen, To get a thanks for the small amount that I did is terrific. I wondered about the "name" thing also. Still so happy that W is staying on.

I got one of those Thank you cards from President Bush too. I don't care if it was autopenned or even done on a well crafted Xerox machine, I'm honored either way.

My dad has voted for Democrats for years and NEVER gotten as many personal letters from GWB as I have in the last year (three) with one letter specifically mentioning what I sent him.

I don't know if this is the same on your letter but look at the ink color and the reflectivity of the ink. My name, (Jesse) and where I'm from (Virginia) act differently from the rest of the letter. I'm no handwriting or autopen expert but I do think that either each letter was done seperately OR the each letter went thru it the autopen/xerox twice.

Once for everyone's state to be written two or three times, then a final run for each person's name.

Regardless of how it was printed, I'm framing it.
Thank you President Bush, or whomever decided on sending me a thank you letter, and the great Christmas card. :-)
