  • American Idol Voting Results-Who Got Voted Off-Week 6

       April 20, 2005

I see that Ryan, like a good boy, listened to me and put a nice, funky t-shirt on under his jacket tonight. Excellent. What is this power I have over reality television hosts? I don't know, but I like it.

Ooooh, Hat is recapping too. Check it out.

Paula is already giggling and is clearly intoxicated. This should be fun. I wonder if she drank her jealousy away because Seacrest has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and, as far as I know, she doesn't. In any case, the Idol folks are getting the filler out of the way early tonight with a gentle roasting of Ryan. Does anyone else ever wonder what happened to Season One co-host Brian Dunkleman?

Time for the cheesy group number! Why do these always remind me of The Brady Bunch? I'm sure Federov could do the Peter part of "When It's Time To Change". Speaking of change, the Idols are not only singing, they're playing instruments, if they can. That's pretty cool. Carrie and Bo look like an especially attractive folk duo playing their acoustic guitars. How much cooler would this be if it were just the two of them doing a cover of "More Than Words"? This song? Oh, it sucks, but is that really any big surprise? It's something about shining. Apparently, the Idols will shine. Shine. Shine. Shine.

The Ford commercial features the Idols animated, JibJab style. They're rocking this town. Inside out. It's just as creepy as it sounds.

Now down to business. Ryan separates the contestants into two groups: the top four and the bottom three. I'm sure that whoever is with Constantine knows that they're safe. But let me tell ya, I wouldn't want to be in the group with Scott. The first six contestants are divided up and then Ryan makes Bo join what he thinks is the top group. Bo defiantly stands in the middle of the two groups. He's awesome. But we all know what the deal is. Vonzell, Carrie and Constantine are safe and Federov, Anwar & Scott are the bottom three. Those three were also the top three picks to get eliminated in our poll today. We have such smart readers. ;-)

And just like that, Anwar is eliminated. Harsh! I'm glad Federov is sticking around, but I can't say I'm looking forward to seeing Scott again next week. Blech. Scott and Gretchen from the Amazing Race are like reality TV cockroaches.

Ok, so we all knew it had to be Anwar this week...but we all wished it was Scott!! He is just so creepy. And speaking of creepy, what about Constantine? Eegads...what is with the puppy-dog, I really "do" want to be another David Cassidy pouty look? Now HE is creeping me out! Ick! Think about it, he has no style, no sense of fashion, no personality, and only knows how to work a camera....if you are a little girl who doesn't know that he really wants you to "just come over here and pet my puppy." I see a Jacko in the making.

OK, so I don't like Constantine....or Scotty the Body.

Still think that it should be down to Carrie and Bo in the finals. Didn't they make a great little couple playing their guitars tonight?! I vote for a duo Idol this year! :-)

Vonzell, Carrie, Bo & Constantine just look like the Final Four. I've gotten a soft spot for Federov, but he and Scott just look like the poor relations compared to the Fab Four.

    Contantine. Yuck.
He has wholesomeness of Bill Clinton, the singing talent of Hillary, and he looks like Chelsea. Why is this chimp still around? Is eye-liner that attractive on a guy, ladies?

How sad Constantine looked much better as a JibJab cartoon.

And Carrie too. Is it me or did she look like Jennifer McGill from The New Mickey Mouse Club?

Anyway, Puppy Dawg is outta there. Loved the video retrospective, where he kept being labeled as "technically the best singer." That's a backhand if I ever heard one.

We're down to 6 - and surprising to all of us, Savol is still there. He'll go soon - but how soon is the question.

It's time for the demographics to kick in - and in Scott's case, they probably already have. The people of Cleveland must be voting en masse for their favorite son. But even so, the guy is still in the bottom 3 each week.

How many realize that Vonzell is the last black in the group? I would think that there would be a tremendous surge of support for Vonzell from the black watchers. I think she'll definitely be one of the last two.

That leaves Carrie, Bo, Constantine and Anthony. In my opinion, it will be the young teen girls that will make the decision here. I don't think Carrie or Bo will especially appeal to them. Will Anthony's young squeeky clean looks get him the votes (after all, the girls love Clay) or will they be attracted by Constantine's put-on sexy image. My guess is Constantine will pull them in.

The above is subject however to mass voting by large constituencies. If Carrie, Bo, or Anthony can get their home towns (or even states) to vote for them, then perhaps they'll have a chance.

are you saying that you think vonzell will make it to the final 2 b/c of the black vote, OlderIdolFan? i agree, she will get support from that demographic, but only 15% of the US is black. combine that with the fact that she's a boring singer, and i don't think she gets farther than the final 4.

being the last black standing didn't help Tamyra.

i don't think it's at ALL about color, it's not as if black artists don't have huge followings of white kids.

Of course it isn't all about color. But I really think that blacks take a tremendous amount of pride in the black contestants and I think they will support Vonzell heavily. Hawaii wasn't even 15% of the US population, but look what it did for Jasmine Trias.

I didn't watch the first season so I can't comment on Tamyra.

At this point of the contest, it becomes serious business (if it wasn't before). The winner has a huge amount to gain and I'll bet someone is lining up whatever is necessary to get the votes for their candidate.

I completely support this final four. I have a soft spot for Vonzell, (not only b/c she's the only black person left), but b/c, she seems really gentle and cute, and honestly, she has truly grown over the weeks... As for Carrie,i suppose she would most likely win, esp. after she sang Alone by Heart, but be that as it may, my vote for this year's idol goes to Anthony Federov. I hope he wins! His voice is really powerful and beautiful. Bo's cute and all, but i think his vocal's are no match for Anthony's and Carrie's- may the best person win (Anthony)
