  • American Idol Voting Results-Who Got Voted Off-Week 8

       May 04, 2005

Seacrest is in and looking dapper in a cream suit and lavendar tie. I miss my scruffy Ryan. I miss my drunk Paula, too. Speaking of Paula, she gets some supportive cheering from the audience when Ryan introduces her. I'm not surprised. If ABC thinks they're taking Idol down tonight, I think they've got another thing coming. Their motives are so transparent.

It's medley time! Tonight they'll butcher "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Actually, the singing is pretty good, except that Federov and Carrie sound awful together. Oh, and Bo is wearing those damn sunglasses again. Can't we vote them out instead? It seems like the other four finalists are playing backup singer to Bo tonight. Hints of future things to come?

At the end of the song, the finalists deliver flowers to Paula. Aww...that's sweet. Poor Paula. You know, the most embarassing part of this whole thing isn't that she messed around with a contestant, it's that she messed around with Corey. Blech. She could have done so much better.

Hey! The Ford commercial is a cover of one of my favorite songs of all time: "Rudy, A Message To You" by the Specials. Sweet! I can even stand Punkass Scott a little bit if he sings this.

    On to the results.

Federov: Happy Birthday (oh this is going to suck). Sit on the couch.
    Vonzell: Keep standing.
    Savol: Sit on the couch.
    Bo: Keep standing.
    Carrie: Stand.

Vonzell, Bo & Carrie are the top three. Scott sprawls on the couch looking all pissy and bitter. Federov, meanwhile, is a class act and applauds the top three. Poor Federov. Imagine getting voted out on your birthday.

Because Idol likes to torture both their contestants and their audience, the bottom two will sing before one of them is given the boot. Scott sings the Brian McKnight song he did last night. I don't need to hear this again. I'll take a quick break and cover my ears. Ryan asks: "Is this the end for Scott?".

Randy: the right people are sitting on the couch
Paula: Scott's not an ass, he knows who he is (he's an ass)
Simon: refuses to answer the question

Now time for Federov who will repeat his performance of "Incomplete" from last night. I will repeat my performance of desperately wishing for this song to be over.

And, after the vote, at last it's Scott who's gone. USA! USA!. So long, Punkass! You've been Savoled at last.

First off what right do you have to judge scott as a person? All you can do is judge his singing and not his personal life. How do you know he is a punkass its sounds to me like whoever wrote that crap is the punkass! Scott is a good singer and he has faith in himself you know nothing about him to talk shit! Whatever rumors about him you've heard you dont know if their true or not, you cant judge a book by its cover! So if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything at all! I believe he belong's on the show and Anthony and Vonzell should be gone! Atleast Scott kept it real and he was the realest American Idol. If you wanna talk about Scott what about the rumors about Bo doing coke? You want a crack head to represent the American Idol? I'm not saying anything bad about Bo he is the best singer on there right now, but there are plenty of rumors about him... That's all I have to say, when Scott was voted off it was a mistake it should of been Anthony of Vonzell and the only reason Anthony is on still is probably because today is his birthday! Go Scott you'll make it big anyways!!!

And that previous post tells us the average mentality of the Savol crowd...anyways. Just keepin' it real! Ah-iiite?

Crap. I just spoiled it for myself. Idol isn't even on here for another hour. Damn you lucky east coasters!
Savol's gone? Anthony was easily the worst last night. I guess Squinty Mcwifebeater shouldn't have gotten so cocky with the judges. People don't like that.

Bwaaahaahaha! You are hillarious! I slept through the show, (i teach third grade...i needed a nap) wanted a recap and stumbled upon yours. Although I don't totally agree with all of your comments, your summary of the show is the best by far! Thanks for the laughs. And in closing I'd like to say GO VONZELL!

Bo Bice will win !! why ?! American Idol is not picked by America !! Season 1 winner Kelly (white woman) Season 2 winner Rubben (black man)
Season 3 winner Fantasia (black woman)
sooooo that only leaves the the white man left to win...Anthony sucks which means Bo Bice is your (there) American Idol !

The comments out here today don't seem to be very perceptive and you get the idea that people aren't really trying. But then I don't think a lot of people put much thought into pop music these days.

Besides his antagonistic personality (which has been improving believe it or not), Scott Savol had the weakest voice of them all, especially in the middle of his range. Where he excelled was in the songs that were fun rhythmically - ballads with him always sucked.

Of the Final Four, I think any of them can win and it will depend more upon their fan base than talent.

Anthony: best voice on the show - I wish they would have given him some of the high vocals in Bridge Over Troubled Water where he could have shined. He actually has a better voice than Clay Aiken, but he doesn't have Clay's drive to win. There are 2 problems with Anthony - lack of experience & poor song selection. If he can perform well, he has a chance of being in the top 2. Why? - because the young teenage girls will be drooling over him and voting like crazy. He might attract the gay voter as well. He'll also pick up many of the voters from the East Coast and MidWest now that Scott is gone.

Bo: good voice - I was especially impressed with his vocals in Bridge Over Troubled Water - nice clear low baritone - sexy. Probably the most experienced performer of the group. It's hard to tell how much of a rock audience watches American Idol and if Bo's songs appeal to them. He's a Georgia boy without seeming to be a Southerner. He probably doesn't have a large fan base, so chances of winning are slim.

Carrie: overall excellent performer - I wish she'd stick to country flavored songs and I think that will be very important for her. Will her country oriented fans be enough to win it for her? I doubt it.

Vonzell: she has really blossomed since the start of the contest, getting better each week. Excellent voice, great range, impressive song delivery. Plus she has the black vote. I'll be surprised if she isn't in the finals.

So it's a turkey shoot. Next week should be a fun show.

I was *thrilled* to finally see Scotty the Body off the show!! I am glad it is down to the final four and Anthony is still around. I must admit, though, I don't know what his target audience will be...Backstreet Boys teenie boppers? Vonzel is good, but she is very predictable...hits the loud high notes but is hard to hear on the just plain ole singing parts.

My favs all along have been Bo and Carrie. I hope they end up in the finals (and together!!!...don't they make a good couple?!)

I can see Bo being another Lenny Kravitz and Carrie a Martina McBride. Either would be fine with me!

Thanks, America, for finally getting rid of that rude, crude and totally unacceptable slob Scotty!

Unrelated to the Primetime Live, but I just wanted to drop a line on how crazy these Constatine fans are right now. I went his band's web site and jumped on the forum. There are thousands of posts in the past couple days. One thread just went on begging Constatine to answer. I just jumped on and posted. Pretty soon, I had a ton of girls jumping into my lap. One thrity-something lawyer was proclaiming her undying love while a stay at home mom was asking if I would accept her even with children and cats. What is this guys appeal? I left the forum with this post:

Re: Constantine Please give us a shout!!!!

Oh, and I want to let you know that I am perhaps that biggest sell-out to ever live. To get teeny-boppers to buy a hard rock album that they normally wouldn't touch is amazing. I am a GOD!!!!
    Constatine

I don't think they bought that one.
