  • Three Signs Are Better Than One

       April 03, 2006

I walked around the neighborhood tonight and took some pictures of all the anti-war, anti-Bush signs on Referendum Eve. This was my favorite house:

I was looking for the sign trifecta, which is a house with a "Yes! Troops Home Now!" sign, a "War is NOT the answer" sign and the ever-present "Impeach Bush Now". Unfortunately, the closest I came was two out of three. I did, however, spot some Kerry/Edwards signs and several Toyota Priuses. I'll make sure to watch the weather tonight in case there's a smug alert.

But before you think all is lost in my corner of America, I submit for your approval, the latest display at what I call the "holiday house". I have no idea who these people are, but they lavishly decorate their house for ever single holiday...the 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and now Easter. This time they've also added a little something special to the mix:

    I like it.

oh... how is the reader to know that the flag isn't always there? flags normally adorn houses.

If those homeowners were willing to pay just a little bit more in property taxes they could repair those sidewalks and make them safe for their elderly and mobility impaired fellow citizens.
