  • American Idol Final 9-Mandisa Voted Off

       April 05, 2006

Tonight the final 9 become the great eight. Who will it be? After the recap, I think it should be almost any of them. Yikes!

Speaking of yikes, Kenny Rogers is so boring that he makes me long for last week's Shakira performance.

Next week's theme is "Queen". Oh dear god, I cannot wait. That's just going to be fantastically, awesomely, amazingly bad.

Unfortunately, everyone won't make it. It's elimination time as Ryan is set to split the Idols into three groups of three.

Near Group: Taylor, Pickler, Chris (top three)

Center Group: Mandisa, Elliott, Paris (the bottom three according to Dial Idol)

    Far Group: Ace, Katharine, Bucky

The near group is safe. Duh. And Dial Idol is right on as Mandisa, Elliott & Paris make up the bottom three. I'm kind of sad about this, but the prospect of Ace attempting to sing Queen next week is just too delicious.

Paris is safe and it's down to Dial Idol's exact prediction. Way to go, guys. Simon sounds a little subdued about the final two, and so does the audience. We like these people.

And it's Mandisa! She has been terrible the past two weeks, but she's so much better than Ace or Pickler. So long Mandisa, I'm sure we'll see you around.

Queen? That might be worth finding a torrent, especially if someone does Fat Bottomed Girls.

Well, it would have been awesome if Mandisa was still around and had the guts to do it.

Elliot has the voice to do almost anything by Queen. How in hell Bucky will pull off Queen is beyond me. Maybe he can countryize something like Fat Bottom Girls. More likely, he will go for the easy Crazy Little Thing which is already rockabilly. Whoever sings that song is likely to really butcher it.

Bucky could sing One Vision. I think Katharine would do a good job on Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I'd really like Chris to sing Under Pressure.

Taylor is the one I worry about.

Bucky or Chris should do a slowed down acoustic arrangement of Keep Yourself Alive, sort of like Cash would do.

the thing is, is that they're ALL gonna suck. some of them are really good singers, but Freddie Mercury is a once in a lifetime singer. it's really kind of mean of the show to make them do this.

    they're all going to suck.

the only reason to watch next week is to soo if ace will do "killer queen." that would be funny. outside of that, this has to be the least talented group of people that i've seen (doing anything) in a long time.
