  • Amazing Race Recap - Episode 5 - An Intriguing Non-Elimination

       October 15, 2006

Tonight in India, Mary & David's non-Philimination didn't result in the pointless taking of their money and clothing. Instead, the producers came up with a much more intriguing punishment. Instead, next week Mary & David must finish first or they will incur a 30 minute penalty. Interesting. I have to say, that so far I'm loving all the rule changes.

    Other highlights and lowlights:

    • Peter is still an ass, but he doesn't want to change. Like most assholes, he likes the way he is. I don't. I hate the way he won't even look at Sarah. I think he really despises her which makes me question his motives for their relationship and participation in the Race
    • The Cho bros were sporting some cute Phil t-shirts that claimed the host was lost and offered a reward of a "bushel of kiwis" for his safe return. Oh please, Phil is worth so much more than that
    • I love the Roadblock, which required a team member to pass an Indian driving test. The instructor was adorable and I think it's hilarious that the participating Racers now actually have Indian licenses. They could, in theory, go back to India and be devious taxi drivers in the next Race (hey producers, now there's an idea!
    • I'm finding the model/addicts more and more interesting. They are surprisingly thoughtful and patient men. Those are not, unfortunately, the best traits for the Race. If Mary & David hadn't had bad airport luck they would have finished last tonight.

Next week: Camels! In the meantime, Viking Pundit's recap.
