I need some recommendations for a new digital camera. My requirements:
- Something fairly small and light
- A big display - maybe even one of those displays where you can add captions right on your camera
- The camera should have a relatively short delay. One thing I hate about some digital cameras is how long it takes between pressing the button and the actual picture getting taken
- My new camera should be equally good for taking pictures indoors and outdoors
- I want to easily shoot videos from the camera
- It should cost $300 or less
Any recommendations? Please post 'em in the comments. Thanks!

| What an interesting post to log on to. I was just at a charity benefit where I was the winning bidder on a ....digital camera, even though I don't need one. So check this out:
http://exilim.casio.com/browse_cameras/exilim_zoom/EX-Z77/ I got the camera and an extra 1GB high speed memory card for $125. Let me know if you're interested. |

| I've had a couple Kodaks that I really like. My current one is the V1003. It's 10 megapixel. It replaced the 7430 that we dropped. I have had no complaints about either of them. I love the video feature. I take tons of videos from it and it does well.
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qWMErmqb1I The V1003 was 250 when I got it last summer. The 7430 was less than 200. |
