In the wake of the Patriots' Super Bowl loss, I was surprised by the number of non-New England fans who were disappointed. They wanted to see an undefeated NFL team. They felt like the Patriots' loss cheated them out of history.
It made me wonder what sports accomplishments and milestones people most want to see. And, when I wonder about something, I usually write a poll ;-)
Personally, I most want to see a Triple Crown winner. How about you?

| I'm surprised by the results of this so far. Hitting .400 is something that's kind of hard to track and you don't necessarily know what you're seeing when you see it. Of the baseball accomplishments, the hit streak is definitely interesting to me - I remember how exciting it was to track Molitor's hit streak in 1987. |

| Also, I'm not at all surprised that Tiger Woods winning the Grand Slam got a vote but that just any golfer winning it has no votes so far.
I don't care if a golfer wins the Grand Slam. However, if Tiger has a chance to win it - I'd be riveted. I can't really explain why. |

| Of the choices, the one I'd least like to see is a basketball player get 100 points in a game.
The only way that could happen at the NBA level now is for the entire team to make sure one player gets the ball the entire game, and unless the other team is pretty bad, even that won't be totally effective. Occasionally, you hear about it happening in high school; if you dig into it, it's usually because some coach wants to get some publicity for a player, often at the expense of some cellar-dwelling team. Then it becomes less an accomplishment and more an orchestrated event. |

| I agree - the basketball one is the one I'd least like to see. I couldn't really think of another big basketball milestone like that.
I'm REALLY surprised that the Triple Crown is winning. I thought I was the only person who cared. |

| Because it's far easier to cheer for an innocent animal than some jackass pro athlete. |

| Horse records remain untainted. Horses are not influenced by money and as far as we know they know are not taking HGH. |

| Horse racing is hardly free of drugs - although at the highest level it's better than at the lower levels. |
